Foodstuff
The best independent food. Delivered
Overview
Foodstuff is on a mission to redefine delivery for quality independent restaurants, eco-friendly riders and food enthusiasts.
In case you didn't notice, the food delivery space needs a blimming good shake-up!
- Independent restaurants aren't getting a fair deal
- Delivery workers are being treated badly
- The UK market generated over 16,500 tonnes of CO₂ in 2021
- Proper foodies are struggling to find and support local brands online
Come join us on our quest to make delivery a fairer space for independent restaurants, eco-friendly riders and food enthusiasts.
Founders, James and Toby, spotted problems in the industry: extortionate fees for restaurants, low quality food options, poor working conditions for delivery drivers and a huge amount of carbon emissions. Proper foodies were no longer hanging out on delivery platforms and the best indie restaurants were afraid of associating with KFC, Burger King and other low quality chains. Food enthusiasts and indies were in the market for a new home. Cue Foodstuff...
Foodstuff launched in Cambridge in May 2020 showcasing the best restaurants and treating them fairly, which really hit home with local foodies (…pardon the pun). Each delicious meal was delivered by bicycle and with a smile... and guess what, people kept ordering! We learnt that it was all about building a fair community where indies, riders and foodies can thrive equally.
What started as a couple of pals on bikes in Cambridge has now scaled to Bristol, Bath, Manchester and Oxford too. We've got bigger plans for 2022 though! We're gearing up for a 10 city rollout and chasing 250,000 orders by the end of the year. We may support small but we aim big! If you're super ambitious, love making a difference and would pick underdog over Snoop Dogg - we want to hear from you!
